Meet Seymour... a flower shop assistant who is down on his luck. That is until he buys a strange and interesting plant!Trouble is, this plant is a mean green mother from outer space and has a taste for human blood! Suddenly Seymour has the world at his feet... but there is a terrible price to pay!
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is one of the greatest musicals ever written! Written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin) the show is a delicious mash-up of killer tunes, outrageous comedy and one VERY hungry plant!
After hugely successful projects at Yeadon Town Hall (Annie, Don't Look Now!), LYM are back with their biggest project yet. A FULL MUSICAL IN JUST SEVEN DAYS! Featuring a cast of brilliant young performers and a LIVE BAND, this project will be one to remember!

LYM's LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS project will run from Sunday 5 April to Saturday 11 Aprill 2026.
VENUE: YEADON TOWN HALL
For this project, there will be TWO performances on Saturday 11 April - at 2.30pm and 7pm.

LYM's choreographer for DON'T LOOK NOW! is Meg Elsegood. Meg originates from Bradford and began her training as a child with the Wakefield Performance Academy. Meg graduated from D&B College of Performing Arts in 2019. Her Credits include: Odd Squad (CBBC), Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Dick Whittington, Beauty & The Beast (all at Theatre

Alongside her performing career, Meg has directed and choreographed multiple projects of her own with her most recent credits including: Anything Goes (Yeadon Town Hall), Sister Act (Yeadon Town Hall), Les Miserables (Bradford Playhouse) and many more.
Meg’s passion for the arts grew by taking part in productions like Leeds Youth Musical as a child. She is really excited to be returning to LYM after Annie Jr and to create some theatrical magic! She will have us all step-ball-changing down the aisles in no time!

LYM is the brainchild of actor/writer/director Chris Chilton. Chris trained at LAMDA and has worked in the arts for 30 years. Theatre credits include Leeds Playhouse, Royal Exchange Manchester, Sheffield Theatres, the West End, Shakespeare's Rose, RSC, English Touring Theatre, Birmingham Rep, Theatre Royal Bath, and many more. Chris is al

Chris has directed award-winning musicals with young people all over the UK. Shows include Aladdin, Matilda, Mary Poppins, The Wizard of Oz, Little Shop of Horrors, Hairspray, School of Rock, The Lion King and many more. Chris also teaches at drama schools across West Yorkshire, and has also run workshops for the RSC, Shakespeare Schools Festival, Southwark Playhouse, Harrogate Theatre, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Theatre Royal Wakefield, LBT Huddersfield.

Marie trained in Voice and Acting at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has worked as Musical Director with many groups throughout Yorkshire., most recently with Futurist Theatre Company on Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and The Christmas Spectacular at Yeadon Town Hall. She is founder and director of The VivaVox Choir in Kippax and head of singing at Damien Poole Theatre Arts in Harrogate & Guiseley. Marie also runs her own singing teaching studio in Leeds, specialising in Musical Theatre coaching & Estill Voice Training.
Marie also enjoys a busy performing career. Her professional acting credits include, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s one woman musical, Tell Me On A Sunday for Endillion Theatre Company, Arcadia (Endillion Theatre Company), Blitz Bride – The Musical (UK Tour), Just Like Anthea (UK Tour), Chess In Concert (Royal Albert Hall), Girls Night (No.1 National Tour). Locally, she can regularly be seen performing at Yeadon Town Hall in the Town Hall dinner shows and Stage Door Café.

LYM's Easter 26 project will take place at Yeadon Town Hall, High Street, Yeadon, Leeds LS19 7PP, between Sunday 5 April and Saturday 11 April 2026. Times: Sun to Fri - 9am to 5pm (tbc) Sat: 9am to 9pm.
There will be two performances of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS on the final day (at 2.30 and 7pm).
Absolutely! As long as you're aged 21 and under (minimum age 8). We want our projects to be great presentations of fantastic musicals - but our number one priority is making a safe, accessible environment which is fun. For everyone!
WE ARE ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN MEETING OLDER STUDENTS.
YES! Everyone who signs up gets a place on the project, but to cast the principal characters in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS we will be holding OPEN AUDITIONS so you get a chance to show us what you can do.
We will hold a casting workshop for PRINCIPAL roles on SUNDAY 8 FEBRUARY 2026!

You have TWO OPTIONS:
Option 1: book and pay for your place now - this will guarantee you a place on the project and an audition slot in February.
Option 2: book an audition slot in February (say, for example, if you want to audition for a specific role).
Please note: places in the ensemble are limited, so early booking is advised. We expect this fantastic project to be very popular.
Of course! Not everyone wants to be the star! There's room on stage for everyone, regardless of confidence or experience. LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS will have a VERY busy ensemble!
Leeds Youth Musical is headed up by a director, choreographer and musical director. For LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS the show will be overseen by professional actor/director, Chris Chilton, choreographer Meg Elsegood, and musical director Marie Collins.
Yes! If you sign up, we will ask students to commit to the full project.
The project fee is £175.
The seven-day project (which is based at the beautiful Yeadon Town Hall) will include around 50 hours of workshops, rehearsals and tuition with our professional team, culiminating in a fully-staged performance of a great show. That's less than £4 per hour!
The happy memories and show t-shirt we'll throw in for free!
(The small increase in cost is to refelect a longer project AND a LIVE BAND!)

Yes, absolutely! LYM puts safeguarding at the very heart of its approach and always puts the well-being of young people first. Each project is fully risk-assessed with extensive procedures in place to ensure a secure environment, all LYM tutors have enhanced DBS certificates and have undergrone recent child safety training. Also, a qualified first aider will always be on site.

No. LYM offer musical theatre holiday projects. If you are looking for drama, dance or singing classes, we can recommend some brilliant drama schools across West Yorkshire... Feel free to ask!
